Terms of Service

Last updated October 19, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the LaFamilia Foundation portal, membership applications, community spaces, and related services (together, the “Services”). By applying, creating an account, signing in, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

LaFamilia Foundation (“LaFamilia,” “we,” “us”) operates community programs for Latine founders, investors, angels, and ecosystem builders — including FounderFamilia, VCFamilia, AngelFamilia, and related channels.

The Services are provided for networking, learning, introductions, events, and community support. Nothing on the Services is investment, legal, tax, or financial advice.

2. Eligibility and applications

Membership and access may be limited by community (for example founders, VCs, or angels), geography, heritage criteria for certain Familias, and our review process.

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. We may approve, decline, pause, or revoke access at our discretion to protect the community and keep spaces high-signal.

3. Accounts and security

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure.

Do not share your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend accounts that appear compromised, unused for policy reasons, or used in violation of these Terms.

4. Community standards

LaFamilia works because members help each other with respect. You agree to show up thoughtfully: help when you can, respect people’s time, build relationships rather than contact lists, say gracias, and leave the community better than you found it.

Additional channel-specific rules (including WhatsApp Community Guidelines) apply where posted. Serious violations — harassment, doxxing, spam, scraping member data, or sharing private community information outside the group — may result in suspension or permanent removal.

  • No mass outreach, copy-paste pitches, or treating members like leads.
  • No personal attacks, slurs, threats, or unsafe conduct.
  • Do not share internal stories, contact lists, or private channel content externally.
  • Follow admin directions when a conversation is moved offline.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the Services only for lawful purposes consistent with LaFamilia’s mission. You agree not to:

  • Attempt unauthorized access, disrupt, or reverse engineer the Services.
  • Upload malware, scrape member directories, or harvest contact information for outreach lists.
  • Misrepresent your identity, role, firm, or affiliation.
  • Use the Services to solicit in ways that violate community guidelines or applicable law.

6. Events, photos, and media

LaFamilia and its partners may photograph, record, or livestream community events. By attending in person or online, you grant LaFamilia a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your name, likeness, and voice in photos, video, and related materials for community storytelling, education, and promotion — unless you opt out in writing before or promptly after the event where reasonably possible.

If you need a specific opt-out for a published asset, contact us and we will make a reasonable effort to address it going forward.

7. Your content and our materials

You retain ownership of content you submit (profile details, applications, messages you post). You grant LaFamilia a license to host, display, and use that content as needed to operate the Services and communities you join.

LaFamilia’s branding, site design, documentation, and proprietary materials remain ours. You may not copy or reuse them outside the Services without permission.

8. Third-party tools

The Services may integrate with third parties (for example authentication, email, payments, calendars, or messaging apps). Their terms and privacy practices apply to those products. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, specific introductions, fundraising outcomes, or investment results.

Any introductions, dealflow, or conversations facilitated through LaFamilia are between the parties involved. You are solely responsible for your own diligence and decisions.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LaFamilia and its directors, staff, and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities arising from your use of the Services.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, harm the community, fail eligibility requirements, or if we discontinue a program.

Provisions that by nature should survive (including licenses you granted, disclaimers, and liability limits) continue after termination.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
